Description
For sale: 1980 Military motorcycle, used by the British Army, and my research from the copy of the demob sheet says it belonged to 1 Sqn RCT - so I researched their logos and put them in the tank which makes it look good. I’ve recently done a 250 mile trip in Wales on it and didn’t miss a beat. In fact it is surprisingly fast ! It runs well, the lights work, the brakes work well (I put new shoes in the front) the tyres have tread and the chain and sprockets are ok. It’s condition is probably best described as ‘military scruffy’ with hand painted Nato green, scrapes and some tank dents but this look suits the bike. The previous owner rebuilt the engine as the oil pump failed - new con rod, bearings etc and of course a new pump, and currently runs on synthetic oil in the tank. There are a set of pannier racks and a workshop technical manual to go with it. It is ‘historic’ on the v5 so I haven’t bothered MoT testing it and it’s cheap to insure as a classic bike. I have owned the bike a couple of years and it’s time to play with something else so this is going to make space. Asking £2, 000 and located in Sussex. I can send a video if it running and riding by Watsap - just ask me.
