A very rare MK1 DAF 44 with all the Michelotti design cues that where lost on later models. Has some history including original registration book and some 1970s MOTs. It spent most of its life parked in a garage having only covered 2500 miles since 1978 (currently on 39500)!Mechanically the car seems to be fine. It has brand new drive belts and I've rebuilt the brakes. The centrifugal clutch engages well. The interior is very good with the original plastic cover on the back seat.
Worst part is the body which at some point had an average respray a with some rust bubbles coming through the paint. The car is very solid though, I did some welding to the front jacking points but can’t see anything else is needed. I've thoroughly rust proofed the underside and cavities. Tyres are very good.
The car is near Exeter in Devon and can be viewed on a 2 post lift if needed.
