Very rare low miles, Full Service History 6 speed manual non adaptive damper model in finished in Ice Silver with single tone charcoal interior and optional factory gloss carbon fiber trim. I spent a long time looking for a full history car in this exact specification - The factory option Carbon Sigma sideblades in particular look brilliant against the silver paintwork. It is a completely original, standard car which remains un-modified and has been beautifully cared for throughout it’s life.
The standard spec also includes a beautifully exposed 6 speed shift gate, Xenon headlights with LED daytime running lamps, Climate Control (recently serviced), Deep pile carpet mats, Rear parking sensors, Aux jack, Audi DVD Navigation Plus and the gorgeous 3 spoke flat bottomed multi-function leather steering wheel. This car also has all the desirable factory fitted options included (around £10, 000 worth) These include the excellent B&O audio system, 6 disc CD Auto changer, LED engine bay illumination, Front & Rear PDC Parking sensors, Extended Fine Nappa Black Leather interior and Cruise Control. The personalised R8 registration plate is also included but the original ‘58’ number is also available if the new owner would prefer to go back to this.
I have tried to keep a detail of everything completed and I've also taken care to ensure that everything has been done properly by reputable & knowledgeable firms that take care in what they do. It looks brilliant with no work needing doing.
Engine, Gearbox and Maintenance
Maintained with the correct Audi fully synthetic oil during my ownership and has a comprehensive Audi service history from supplying dealer Aylesbury Audi. It has completed 49, 974 miles and was serviced 1, 000 miles ago by a local specialist and has been given a full clean bill of health by owner Martin of renowned Audi R8 Specialist Unit 20 in North Wales. They also completed a full geo suspension alignment so it tracks straight and true and also changed the front differential and gearbox fluids. New air filters have also been fitted (The Audi service schedule doesn’t require this but I’ve done it anyway to ensure all is functioning well) The clutch feels great with ideal biting point and no slippage. I avoided the more common (and pretty awful) single clutch R-Tronic model as it ruins the driving experience with it;s jerky, uncooperative shifts (even using the shift paddles) and it's also known for wearing out clutches pretty quickly.
Exterior
Great condition throughout; it really is exceptional for it’s age with no dents etc. The original 19” quattro Gmbh wheels are unmarked and have been previously refurbished. The tires have plenty of tread and are a matched set of Pirelli P Zeros.
Interior
The interior in particular is in fantastic condition. It has no trim damage or wear, it really could be a car with less than half the mileage. All the equipment operates as it should with nothing needing doing and all switches and displays are working fine with no wear.
Suspension & Brakes
In great shape and feels super tight. I had it inspected when I bought it and all was found to be in order with the exception of 1 shock absorber which had a light misting of oil on the outside (there was no perceptible change in drive though). It was replaced with a genuine Audi unit whilst at Unit 20. I looked for a car didn’t have the troublesome adaptive damper option – This car really is the perfect specification and is not like cars that have had their adaptive dampers replaced with aftermarket suspension - They don't ride as well and there is an ugly adaptive damper switch left on the dashboard that wouldn't now do anything! The brakes are all fine with healthy discs & brakes pads and the original factory R8 branded original calipers are also in great condition.
It has just passed it's MOT with no advisories and nothing further needing doing and also fully HPI clear. The two original flip keys are both present and come with the original Audi key rings. It also manages 25 miles per gallon on a run and is very refined to drive. In fact this car is the identical spec to the model used by Tony Stark in the original 2007 Iron Man Film.
