Fairly rare model 1967 International McCormick 523 with easy drive “Agromatic” gear selection, all in good working order, this is a real lot of tractor for the money.
This 523 was built in Germany and sold new in the UK, it’s not an import, all in very good working order, recently been used on a saw bench it has 6153 hours on a working clock and we understand the engine has previously has a full rebuild.
Starts very easily hot or cold and runs very well, no smoke when pushed hard, no breathing or spitting from the dipstick, brakes are very good and the handbrake will hold on a steep hill. Rear lift arms and PTO working correctly, has a tipper pipe and two factory fitted spool valve controls. Has its original and complete swinging drawbar. New battery just fitted.
The “Agromatic” semi auto gearbox is so easy to drive, you can’t stall it on the clutch, select your range and gear, foot off the clutch then select forward or reverse on the shuttle lever and off you go.
Dash warning lights and clocks are working, headlights did work, one bulb now blown, some of the fitted side lights work, wiper not playing. Cab door opens and click shuts, side windows are Perspex, screen is laminated and has cracks. The whole cab and inner wings are very solid with just localised rot on the bottom rear of both side windows, easy repair or ignore.
In its day this was a rival to the Massey 165, it’s a very capable tractor that will happily work away and do a good job for little money, it’s also a fairly rare model in very untouched condition and might be of interest to a collector. We’d advise a service and check over prior to use.
It is road registered and we have checked it at the DVLA, first registered in November 1967, we have no log book, the buyer will need to send a £25 application off to get one in their name, completed form provided on request.
