The time has come to sell my faithful steed, my Mondeo ST220 Estate. It's been a great companion for the time it has been in my possession.
This has been the 3rd Mk3 Mondeo V6 I have owned, with the first two being a 2. 5 V6 Ghia X Auto, and then my gone, but much coveted 3. 0 Ghia X 6 Speed Estate.
Being an ST220, it comes with a number of options, including Infra Red Recaro seats, Ford CD player, heated front seats, electric windows, climate control with AC, HID lights and the usual ST220 accoutrements including the ST bodykit, 18" wheels, and dual exit exhausts.
This car has an MOT until October 2022, in addition to it having a great service history, with it being Ford maintained until 50, 000 miles, and then serviced independently to now.
During my time, I have changed a number of parts, as follows:
-Refurbished cooling system, including replacement hoses, silicone hoses in areas, in addition to fresh Ford coolant and a new radiator
-Fully serviced with OE filters being used throughout
-Replacement ignition system, including new NGK spark plugs, HT leads, and coil pack
-4 refubished alloy wheels, including brand new centre caps, and 4 fresh Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport tyres
-Refurbished front brake calipers, with genuine Ford pads fitted
-New wiper blades all round
-New clutch & master/ slave cylinder
This car has been across the country with me as well as to local car meets, where it has brought back good memories both for me, and others who have surveyed it.
The interior is in great condition, with the heated front Recaros working well, in addition to the capacious rear boot area, where the rear load cover is present
The engine is in great condition, with it pulling well through the gears, with the gearbox shifting lovely through the gears
The bodywork is in good condition for the year in its shade of Stardust Silver, with it having a couple of scratches and marks commensurate for its age.
It's a joy to drive, as they were known for upon their release, with it making most journeys a pleasant event, while making swift progress.
If you want a modern classic which is a good steer, swift yet practical, and can seat 4 to 5 people in comfort, this is it.
