1970 Martin and Walker Technic 550 recreation based on Porsche’s famous 550 race car. Completed in 2008 by the current owner, remaining in his possession ever since and has covered just 1100 miles in the intervening 14 years. Built using the well-respected Martin and Walker body kit and chassis equipped with a Porsche 914 5-speed manual gearbox and VW 1600 flat-four engine on whose 1970 VW Beetle identity and H registration is taken from.
Professionally built to a high standard and finished in Racing Silver with period correct Red leather bucket seats, red carpeting and red mohair Tonneau, replica door and interior fittings throughout, aluminium gated gear selector and 550 replica wheels. The engine and gearbox have been rebuilt and all suspension, steering and brake systems fitted new or fully refurbished. Custom made s/ s exhaust system and billet 550 air cleaners.
Build cost in excess of £50, 000 in 2008 and would suggest that at today’s prices would cost considerably more to produce something of such high quality presented here. Has remained as part of our customers large private collection since completion and stored in a climate-controlled environment in order to preserve the just restored condition that you see now.
Comes complete with a detailed History File containing all build invoices and 2 sets of keys. Will be supplied serviced and given a new MOT ready for the next owner.
