Beschreibung
This is a lovely Volvo 244 DL. It has only covered 40, 000 miles from new. It received a special rust treatment from new and remains rust free today.
The car comes in the rare and desirable combination of red with red interior. The interior cloth seats and matching red door cards remain in place and are in great condition. There is just a little wear on the drivers seat where you get in and out.
Having been dry stored for 12 years, the car has recently been recommissioned and MOTd. Any parts that were needed have been replaced including brakes, clutch, exhaust etc.
Now fully serviced, the car drives really well, as you would expect from such a low mileage car.
I am the third owner. The car was first registered on 1st August 1978 and purchased by Charles Urmston from Preston. On 1st August 1983, he purchased another new vehicle and the Volvo was passed to his son, James Urmston who became the second owner.
The early 240 series cars with the round headlights were only made up to 1978 with the 1979 model being updated with the square lights.
To find an early 244 is rare these days. However, to find one with such a low mileage and rust free is getting into rocking horse poo territory. The lovely colour scheme is just a bonus.
You could buy a later 100, 000 mile car for £5000 and then have the rust cut out and replaced, or you could buy my car and just enjoy it knowing it needs no welding or restoration work.
I need to reduce my collection, so if it tickles your fancy, please give me a call to arrange a viewing over a cuppa and a chocolate Hobnob.
