Description
WELL, look at this. If you like classic estate cars, then this may well entice you! What we have here is a 1972 Renault 12TL estate - but with a huge difference. This old girl was rebuilt in 2011 and had a Fuego 1647cc, 5-speed R18 gearbox and internals from a Renault 25 dropped in. The result is a 100bhp Renault estate. A genuine wolf in sheep's clothing. And she drives beautifully. So smooth, powerful and comfortable! Finished in Tropical Green Metallic and with an excellent interior, she was also fitted with a full length (and fully working) Webasto sunroof.
Other little goodies included a heated rear screen, hazard lights, rear wash wipe from a Fuego, front and rear fog lights, intermittent wipers, reverse light, cigar lighter, electric screen washers, tinted windows etc. She has been used on a regular basis since her build and, although she remains in superb condition, she has clearly been driven as opposed to being wrapped up in cotton wool.
The tailgate on this model opens so wide that the load bay entrance is huge. She handles magnificently and once you are cruising along, she gives you that sort of feeling that she would take you anywhere. She has a lovely turn of speed which you would expect. At 70 mph, she is hitting just 3, 000 revs. Plenty of history with her and a genuinely delightful and practical vehicle.
Find another Renault 12 estate from this era, let alone one with such spec. You won't.
The classic cars I sell are motoring antiques. There may be a few dozen left of any one model, maybe more and maybe less. Most of them had lives that lasted anywhere between three and seven years (on average). Today's classics are all rare. They have survived. Please do not come and look at one of my cars from the 30s, 40s or 50s and point out some blemishes. Do the maths and work out their ages. If these ancient motor cars are not your cup of tea then please don't make an appointment and come and insult them. Buy a three-year-old BMW if that is your thing. Some are restored to a huge degree; some have never been touched and remain original with warts and all. No two will ever be the same. They are not in a showroom "bulled up" for your perusal. I pride myself on being able to find different and interesting - to me at any rate - classic cars and then finding new homes for them. Understand that and we shall all get on very well indeed. I can also assist with delivery and so please ask for a quote. Many thanks. Martin. the details below).
