Great restoration project or daily runner, this rear 1960 Vanguard Vignale. Had previously resided in Germany but is back in the UK will all the paperwork completed, and the car has kept its original number. A thick history folder shows that much money was spent both here and in Germany.
Mechanically fine, starts runs and drives very well with no overheating, smoke, or unusual noises. Only requires a basic service and check over and benefits from a full stainless steel exhaust system.
Bodily it can be described as tidy, with exception to the driver’s front section of the sill which does require work to the inner and a part section outer, but these are readily available. The passenger side is better but will require some work. The interior floors have no issues and would benefit from a rub down and paint before any carpets are fitted. Paintwork does polishes up as you can see in the pictures but there are various blisters and marks which can be expected considering the car is 62 years old.
Interior is good with a nice headliner; good door cards and the seats are acceptable. The dash requires some paintwork as its peeling in places, but this can be easily rectified over a weekend. All gauges, switches etc work fine.
All in all, this Vanguard is a good honest car which would be a nice project, or you could carry out the welding and have the car on the road very quickly as a tidy daily runner.
Genuine reason for this unfortunate sale.
