Description
1958 Peugeot 403.
The 403 debuted as a sedan/ saloon on 20 April 1955 at the Trocadéro Palace in Paris.
The Pininfarina styled 403 was the first Peugeot to sell more than million cars. However there are now only 27 remaining in the UK.
The collaboration with Pininfarina marked the start of a partnership which would see the Italian designer producing designs for Peugeot for more than fifty years
This charming 1958 left hand drive example is in good mechanical working order, although the radiator needs either recoring or replacing as the car is currently prone to overheating.
The bodywork remains solid but there are some rust patches on the horizontal panels: the interior is original and seat facings, door cards and dashboard are in good order, as is the boot.
The black paintwork would benefit from a full respray or alternatively the car could continue to be driven in its current patinaed condition.
Five new tyres.
New carburettor hosing and radiator hosing.
New master brake cylinder and reservoir.
