Another of our affordable all working very well ready to enjoy tractors, never been messed with or molested, just how you want to find them, we haven’t even give it the oily rag wipe over, its just as it arrived form its long term owner.
Nuffield Universal Four 1958 40hp starts easily with no help or heat required, runs like a Swiss clock, pulls like a train and stops well with a good handbrake that holds on a steep hill. The hour clock says 936, its fair to assume it’s been round and started again, but it could be right, it’s a super straight tractor.
Has a fast top end road speed, would be an excellent road run machine, all the gears select easily, smooth clutch, keeps excellent oil pressure even when warm. Rear lift arms are quick and smooth, PTO selecting and working, fitted with original swing draw bar, PTO guard and tipping pipe. The optional belt drive is working correctly with no rumble. All the correct original badges are in place and the correct single headlamp.
Road registered and DVLA checked, we have the current log book plus the previous style and the original buff log books, along with a good assortment of tax discs, been with the current owner for 13 years and the previous owner had it for 30 years since 1971. Weighs just over 2 ton so can be trailered legally on a suitable trailer.
This is a jump on and use tractor for farms, stables, smallholdings or fun, it will happily work, road run or go to shows, there may be some folk that would like to restore it, personally I think it’s better left alone, but the buyer can decide.
Probably the most original and untouched DM4 available anywhere and a very affordable fully working tractor that will earn its keep.
