If you know these bikes then you know they are becoming really rare and a future collectors bike with prices gradually on the rise. This has all the OEM features of the usual SMC 660 with the bonus of some added extras.
Some back story and history, originally purchased towards the back end of last year to be able to say I’ve owned one. The previous owner had rescued the bike from a barn where it had been stood for some time. I then purchased it off them and it has had a sympathetic recommission to bring it back to its best for the new owner to really make it one of a kind.
Since my ownership it has had the following:
New Oil 10w 40 fully synthetic
New Oil filter
OEM Carb rebuild kit
New mid body gasket
New main jet
New idle jet
New needle
New carb hoses
OEM Carb to head hose
OEM Carb clamps
New air filter
New valve gaskets.
The valve clearances have also been checked and are spot on and it has also had a compression check which also come back within spec.
The bike benefits from some added extras but I also have all the original parts also.

This makes the bike extremely nice to ride and gives it the extra punch that it should have had from the factory.
Overall the bike is in really really nice condition, a few of the bolts could do with re-zinc from being left in a barn and the chain could ideally do with being replaced as it’s well within spec (adjusters on the shortest setting) but it’s rusty.
The wheels are really nice and clean and have come up with some autosol , all the wheel bearings are tight and in perfect condition, it even had the original tires on.
It has a tonne of receipts and invoices including the original purchase receipt and the factory tools / tool kit to go on the rear of the bike.
All the electrics work as they should and the bike rides really nice, it could do with going back on the Dyno ideally to ensure it’s fuelling correctly for peace of mind.
If you know these Ktm they are left hand kick and notorious to start but once you develop the knack it’s easy and I can get it 1st kick.
