The delightful Motorist MK1 Transit van is now up for sale and looking for a fantastic new custodian to give her the adventures she so richly deserves. There are four noted former keepers and with The Motorist being fifth keeper, she now seeks her sixth custodian.
The van was purchased by The Motorist in 2021 to be used as the work vehicle for carrying parts and running out to trade shows across the country. Due to the expansion of the business and the necessity of bigger vehicles and the need to travel longer distances; the Transit has been parked up indoors on show and rarely used.
The van has good paintwork, none of the rot and bubbling you see on many Transits of this age and for a workhorse, is surprisingly solid underneath. She drives well, doesn’t smoke and could be used for a multitude of different uses; from holiday home on four wheels to daily driver or show queen. This is a Transit you can take on and put a stamp on to make your very own.
At some stage in recent years, the vehicle has undergone a good respray and is shiny, smart and presentable with no major faults, which is to be expected for a vehicle which has been lightly used.
In addition to this, prospective purchasers will note the interior has been retrimmed at some stage and is currently immaculate with a retro style stereo in the centre of the vehicle. There are no receipts for the retrim of the seats, but as anyone viewing will see, there are no rips, tears or sagging to the seats. They are as good as new.
The back of the vehicle has been boarded out and these boards are all solid and there are no cracks or splits in the wood. The back of the vehicle like the rest of the van is solid, shiny and ready to be put to good use.
Under the bonnet is again, an area worth showing off. The engine bay is clean and there are no leaks or concerns with the engine and everything is present and correct.
There are no noted modifications on the vehicle or upgrades.
In short, this is an honest vehicle which looks smart, drives well and would lend itself to a multitude of uses. Due to the tidiness of the vehicle, this could also be used for film work and with commercial vehicles of this age, there is always plenty of work to be found. The vehicle could be a great revenue stream as a film car, wedding vehicle or events vehicle.
