THIS is a mega rare AC 2-litre saloon in exquisite condition. These fine hand built motor cars were produced between 1947 and 1956 with just over 1, 200 being made. This is a 1949 example and it is excellent condition. Body-wise and structure-wise, she is a gem plus her paint finish to the aluminium panel work is top notch!
These sports saloons were the very epitome of hand built luxury back in the day and were fitted with a 2-litre AC engine with triple SU carbs. The engine sported an alloy block. It would be difficult to find a better example in my opinion with the only cosmetic work still required being the leather seats which are clearly original and brittle. It would be worth every penny of a re-trim here as the rest of this outstanding AC in such delightful order.
Also, I would like to add that in my opinion my photos do not do this rare gem justice. I would say that she is even better in the flesh! Her green paintwork has a real deep emerald lustre - nicer than my photographic skills have been able to portray.
My classic cars are motoring antiques. Please do not confuse them with your one-year-old Range Rover. This car, for example, is 73-years-old and so will have quirks and faults in there somewhere. These are not always apparent when buying and selling classics which is what I do. I do not restore them, nor do I pretend that they are concours cars. The majority of them go out as they came in, and I continue to enjoy finding more - a skill which is becoming increasingly difficult as many of you will be aware. They deserve to be taken on as "family pets" and cared for through thick and then. They don't make them any more and demand now out-strips supply.
