This 1973 Porsche 911T Targa is an interesting and appealing car. It’s a left-hand drive US model which means that it is equipped with fuel injection rather than the carburettors of European 911Ts.
It is resplendent in Silver Metallic with Fuchs wheels, polished roof hoop and a black interior.
The car was treated to a full body restoration and respray some 12 years ago. The engine was rebuilt at this time, too. The last owner then bought the car and treated it to constant improvements to bring it to the condition it is in today. This included replacing the rear wings and repainting them, and retrimming the seats in black leather. The gearbox has just been rebuilt, too. The car shall be freshly serviced before it is sold.
There are two large folders of paperwork documenting work done to the Porsche, plus copies of a 2013 issue of GT Porsche magazine which featured the car. There is also a brand-new driver’s handbook and a gorgeous, unused, genuine Porsche toolkit.
The US 911T Targa is sometimes known as the 911T/ E. The fuel injection makes it a more useable proposition than the carbuettered 911Ts we are more used to. The engine starts easily and runs smoothly from cold. The engine produces 140bhp which is 10bhp more than the European 911T, which in a car that weighs just 1000kg, is a very respectable figure, making the Porsche huge fun to drive.
