1960 Beardmore Taxi Paramount Mark VII. Beardmore built just 650 taxis between 1956 and 1965 and they were perceived to be the Rolls-Royce of Taxis. All coach built with aluminium body work. These later models were fitted with the Ford Consul 1703cc petrol engine. She is an absolute cracker of a cab (Carry On Cabby and all that!), fully restored in 2012 including a rebuilt engine adjusted for unleaded. Re-chromed too. She has done very few miles since and has been used mainly for weddings. Now, there is a business opportunity for you. All that space in the rear cab, with two traditional pull down seats. Here I am pictured, out touting for business and enjoying that superb turning circle! Meter still ticks, but it's in shillings and pence! Great order outside, inside and underneath. First owners were a family in Devon who kept her for 42 years! Interesting history file too. Been used for weddings here in North Yorkshire for the past year.

My classic cars are motoring antiques. Please do not confuse them with your one-year-old Range Rover. This car, for example, is 62-years-old and so will have quirks and faults in there somewhere. These are not always apparent when buying and selling classics which is what I do. I do not restore them, nor do I pretend that they are concours cars. The majority of them go out as they came in, and I continue to enjoy finding more - a skill which is becoming increasingly difficult as many of you will be aware. They deserve to be taken on as "family pets" and cared for through thick and then. They don't make them any more and demand now out-strips supply.
