It was assembled to use in speed hill climbs & sprints & meets all current legislation for that discipline
The car is eligible for classic events such as the Bugatti Owners’ Club speed series catering for pre-1972 racing cars
The engine is an MG B series, one of the later 18v engines with five main bearings which is the favoured unit for serious motor sport
The coil, distributor, & all wiring is brand new, as is the lightweight aluminium radiator & all hoses
The gearbox is a standard MGB 4 speed box
New clutch fitted
Newly purchased wire wheels which wear Blockley cross ply tyres
An aluminium three gallon tank is mounted in the tail assembly, supplying fuel via a brand new fuel pump
The complete front suspension unit from an MGB is used, with all new components throughout including the steering rack & springs
The front cross member was carefully mounted to give a good degree of castor, which increases the straight line stability and self-centring
The front & rear body sections & cockpit cowl are believed to be Beck with all other panels made for the car from twenty gauge aluminium which results in a very light vehicle
A detachable steering wheel is fitted and all instruments are MG
A roll over bar was incorporated into the car, meeting all MSUK blue book requirements and a six point harness is fitted which is in date
The car has a lightweight Odyssey Motorsport battery, new in 2022 and a slave battery (included in the sale, again, new in 2022) is used to start the car from cold, after which the car starts & runs willingly using the on-board battery which has proved effective during competitive outings
Engine has been reconditioned & fitted with twin SU HS4 carburettors, all work being carried out by Tony Bishop, former mechanic to Rob Walker & John Button.
