Beskrivning
c1955 Charlie Lucas race bike.
Lucas was based in Watford and made a series of bespoke race bikes through the 50s, mostly with Velocette MkVIII engines, this example is fitted with an Enfield 500 twin.
I've owned it for around fifteen years and in this time road registered it.
The engine is the correct one as originally fitted and has been rebuilt by RE specialist Paul Henshaw. The gearbox is a close ratio and has no kick start though the bike is a very easy starter. The mag is a BTH TT and has recently been rebuilt by Paul Lydford.
The frame looks like a Norton Featherbed but isn't: see here for more details on Charlie Lucas and the machines he built: - details above
The last picture shows the bike as built c1955.
The bike is unrestored and almost to original 50s spec. The correct 19" rims come with the bike as does the original carb set up (it is currently running on Concentrics).
A rare survivor, ready to use.
