I'm going to regret this, but needs must. I bought this 2. 0E 8V (Golf GTi engine with Bosch injection) recently to add to my collection and be an alternative to my rather thirsty Audi 80 V6.
It had stood 16 years after having had the motor replaced (as noted on the rocker cover) so I got it running, did the cambelt etc, fitted later alloys with matching Dunlop tyres, did all that was required for the MOT, machined the paintwork, scrubbed the leather with Dodo Juice..... it needed quite a lot..... brakes, fuel lines, discs, callipers on the rear,
But...... it had been fitted with a Sachs suspension set prior to my buying it.... so required a lot of scrubbing to the underside to clean it all up a bit. It's a bit lower than std, the alloys are unfortunately a little too big and catch over big bumps, fine usually.
But it's being sold a s a PROJECT because it still needs a few bit and bobs.... the main one being the gearchange mounting as it's a bit sloppy.... I have bodged it so it works fine though.
