To some it's amazing news that the case company built automobiles, to collectors who are familiar with the whole family of case products the automobile represents a unique and highly desirable piece of case history. The J. I. Case Threshing Machine Company purchased the Pierce Racine automobile company in August of 1910. From the start the Case automobile was a high- end car. The front of the car carries the eagle emblem modelled on ‘old Abe’, the famous mascot of the 8th Wisconsin regiment from 1861 to 1881. The Case Company ceased production of automobiles in 1926/ 1927. Today these cars are highly prized by collectors.
1916 racer with a twin- block, monobloc engine. Aluminium blocks, bronze fuel tank, single nut wire wheels, radiator thermometer, external handbrake, double spare wheels and bodywork handcrafted in its time with attention to stylish and elegant details. Quite a sizeable car, even for its time, nevertheless its lines and overall appearance is light and graceful.
