In 1915 a successful range of the 2-stroke PECO (Pearson and Coles) engined Calthorpe motorcycles appeared on the production line alongside the JAP 2 3/ 4hp engined bikes. The PECO two stroke engine is of the 3-port type with fuel delivery through the highly regarded 1915 design Senspray carburettor and drive to the rear wheel was through the rugged Calthorpe 2 speed gearbox.
This motorcycle was totally restored to a very high standard several years ago. It has not been used for some time and it will therefore require some recommissioning, the engine turns over smoothly with good compression and the gears select as designed. The original registration number of this motorcycle was NS 262 (original number plate included and kept as part of the bikes history).
Comes with – a current V5C, a duplicate of the buff logbook, a VMCC Dating Certificate, a receipt for the magneto rebuild, a photograph of the bike when purchased and some photocopied material.
