Powered by a 350 bhp, 3. 4 litre 6 cylinder, driving the rear wheels via the new-at-the-time 7 speed manual gearbox. The first 6 gears are short, and provide all the performance, including the 178 mph top speed. The long ratio 7th gear keeps engine revs low and therefore, reduces fuel consumption.
