Here’s something very special! This Cobra started life, we believe, as one of the original Adrian Reynard Ram prototypes – one of six – and still retains the excellent Reynard chassis.

It has, however, since been rebodied with a shell moulded from a genuine Brooklands Cobra, which is said to be superior to the Reynard body.

The white and blue paintwork is in good condition and complemented by side pipes and chrome trim, including the roll-bar. Quick-lift jack hooks are fitted front and rear.

The interior is just as convincing, with black leather seats, Sparco harnesses and fire extinguisher. A tonneau covers the cockpit.

A Cobra is all about performance and this one certainly doesn’t disappoint. It has a 5. 7-litre V8 Chevy engine which was rebuilt in 2014. The power goes through a four-speed gearbox to a Jaguar rear end.

This unique Cobra comes with a folder of paperwork and photographs, documenting the car’s build and upkeep – a lot of money has been spent on it over the years. Included in the sale is the cherished plate TJI 7624. The car is registered with the DVLA as a 1984 Jaguar XJS. The Cobra will be serviced and fitted with four new tyres before sale.
