I sourced this car from the owner of a Mercedes dealership in Holland. In 2020 he carried out a major, no expense mechanical overhaul. Only genuine Mercedes parts were used at a cost of over €12, 000 and as he owned the dealership labour was at no cost but he estimated at a retail value of €20, 000. The work included but was not limited to, timing chain and tensioners, wiring loom, radiator, rear SLS suspension, brakes, exhaust and much much more. The car now performs beautifully.
Under the bonnet, the E500 boasts a 5. 0-litre V8 engine that produces a whopping 322 horsepower, allowing it to go from 0-60mph in just 6. 3 seconds. The handling is precise, but the ride is smooth and this really is the perfect long distance cruiser.
