Spartan was a Kit Car business based out of Pinxton, Derbyshire from 1973 - 1995. Like this one, later examples of the 2+2 roadster, were based on Ford Cortina Mk. III - V chassis’ and running gear. This unfinished project features the Ford 1600cc single cam engine and drivetrain, and was last running in 2022, we are told that the rear axle was also rebuilt. It requires a lot to complete the build but the majority of parts appear to be present. There is a following and an owner’s club for these kit cars and useable examples do fetch reasonable money so this should be a worthwhile project for the right hobby mechanic.
The car has never been registered so will require the correct process of registration to receive a logbook from the DVLA including the correct test for kit cars.

Vehicles that are un-registered or on foreign plates may require Import Duty and Vat to be paid upon purchase via HMRC prior to registering with the DVLA for a UK plate, if you are not sure please ask. For classic cars over 30 years this equates to 5% Duty on the final value. For cars described as MOT exempt (pre-1983) these vehicles may need their exemption registered with the DVLA.
