Motodrome are pleased to offer this superb-looking 1997 example of the rare, full-fat, high-performance Volvo 850R Estate, this one an automatic, finished in Olive Green Metallic with the more desirable Anthracite half- leather/ alcantara sports trim.
Very unusually for an R, this one has the fold-out seats below the boot floor, making it a seven seater.
Not to be confused with the more numerous T5, the ‘R’ models (which are now appreciating rapidly in value) have many extra tweaks that take the performance and handling to higher levels, including 240bhp as standard, uprated suspension inc thicker anti roll bars and sports dampers, 17” Volans alloys, and a bigger front airdam.
Unlike many that have been heavily tuned, this one is in standard spec as far as I can tell, with the exception of a Cobra Sport stainless exhaust and a strut brace.
Whilst a fair few have now been repatriated from Japan, this is an original UK car
Odometer reading 183000 miles, (so just about run in) with a big history file including the original service book with 13 stamps therein, and a massive sheaf of bills and other paperwork. Recent highlights include new engine mounts, new front discs and pads, new heater matrix , new silicon turbo hoses new front wishbones all in 2021, and new radiator 2023
