Description
Here for sale is a superb Jaguar MKII 3. 8 Manual with Overdrive. Finished in Opalescent Bronze Metallic that’s complemented by cream hide interior trim, it is a matching number, home market example that was supplied new by Henly’s (London) in April 1962 to a Mr Jack Lackmaker, who retained the Jaguar for the next 34 years. It then passed in turn to a Mr Barry Sanders of Penrith and a Mr Raymond Page of Cockermouth. So rare these days to get such a car having only had 4 previous keepers in 61 years
The subject of an older restoration, it was then treated to new inner and outer sills in 2016, as well as a dose of Dinitrol. More recently: the facia has been refurbished; the front suspension rebuilt with new springs, Gaz dampers and Poly bushes; and a new battery installed.
Complete with the very rare factory power steering, Reutter reclining front seats, chrome wire wheels, both standard and narrow Coombs-style rear wheel spats, a Jaguar Heritage Certificate accompanies the car. An extensive history file is also with the car along with the original owner’s manual and maintenance chart still in their original folder.
The indicated mileage of 85, 500, though not warranted, is believed to be correct.
Having driven many MKII’s I can honestly say this is certainly one of the best we have had in terms of engine, gearbox suspension etc.
