The 2006 S8 sports car features the mighty Lamborghini-sourced 5. 2 V10 with 450 hp, stiffer suspension, larger wheels and ceramic brakes.
It can be considered "fabulous" for its impeccable finish, exaggerated performance, and also for its excellent price/ performance level.
The S8 is extremely fast in all conditions, touching 250 km/ h 'very' self-limited and covering the 0/ 100 km/ h in 5. 1 seconds; the 6-speed Tiptronic gearbox is also excellent, with the 'sport' selection delaying gear changes; braking is also exceptional. Finally, the S8 is all in all manageable despite its imposing size and mass.
The set-up lives on the compromise between comfort and convenience: in essence, it is less comfortable than other cars in that price bracket, but at the same time it doesn't feel like a real 'sports car'. The carbon trim on the interior, in a context nevertheless laden with electric servos and luxury, helps to make it the right choice "for those who cannot afford a work car, and a fun car", but who can still afford a car of this level.
