The Silver Spirit and the long-wheelbase version, the Silver Spur, were initially released in 1980 to replace the Silver Shadow. Featuring numerous updates to the chassis, electronics, and interior, the Silver Spirit/ Spur were praised for their ride quality and modern feel. Over the years, Rolls-Royce gave the pair additional upgrades across four series to ensure the models kept up-to-date. The last of these was introduced in 1995 (for the 1996 model year). The Series IV cars, while simply badged “Silver Spur” due to the poor connotation of the number four in certain markets, added a turbocharged in addition to the usual electronic and minor stylistic updates before being itself replaced by the Silver Seraph/ Park Ward models which utilized BMW V12s.
The magnificent 1997 Rolls-Royce Silver Spur IV saloon featured here is finished in gorgeous Black Emerald Metallic over an impeccably kept Soft Tan leather interior surrounded by magnificent burled Walnut woodwork throughout. This exquisite motorcar is been meticulously maintained from new and was always stored in a climate control garage. This is one of the last of the hand-built Rolls Royces out of Crewe, England and is fitted with every available option.
