Powerful and economical E39 530d
This example has had everything it has ever needed without question making a very reliable motor with a long life ahead. A classic colour combination of dark blue (Dunkelblau) with a cream interior (Sand Beige) and wooden dashboard trim gives an elegant feel, it’s a timeless car.
Owned for two years but known car since roughly 2009 when the car was in the hands of the previous owner of 12 years and was fastidious with maintenance keeping each and every receipt and piece of paperwork ever received in his ownership. The rear arches, as with most BMW’s of this era, had suffered and have been replaced which will help to extend the life of the car. The new rear arches were fitted and painted and a jacking point repair done in 2021. Current MOT is until 22/ 9/ 23 but can be renewed for another year. The last service was 3/ 4/ 23, new heavy duty Bosch battery around the same time too.
No stone chips on the bonnet, just has a parking scuff on rear bumper, overall good condition for age / mileage. The dashboard, switchgear, centre console and door cards are all in good order as well with everything working properly and little wear to the switches. Two sets of carpet mats included.
The headlamps have been changed for a tasteful aftermarket option with a more modernised look and suit the car. The 18’ alloys are known as Style 32s and last year all the tyres were replaced with a set of branded tyres which still have good tread remaining. Nice rear boot spoiler and tinted windows too.
This 5 series has had everything it ever needed mechanically, the vast folder of paperwork show that not just quantity of parts and servicing, but quality was done having many of its parts come from BMW. Each of the engine and brake services have been recorded and long life oil used at each service.
This 530d comes with a manual transmission which is quite uncommon and is a version of the engine that didn’t come with the common swirl flap issue as they were never fitted.
