• GENERAL OVERVIEW
The vehicle was purchased by myself back in December of last year purely on a whim for my wife. She wanted a 4x4 / SUV due to the higher driving position, and because I’m an avid collector of this era of BMW I thought this would fit the bill nicely and sit well alongside my e39 5 series. A few months in and with the cost of fuel rising, with her only doing quite short journeys and plus it being in the higher tax bracket meant it was now becoming a costly commodity so we made the decision to get her another car so we purchased a 2014 Mini which is obviously cheaper to run. I have this kept far too long now and it doesn’t make any sense to hold on to it any longer, I use my 530d for my commute due to it being ULEZ exempt (luckily). I’ve kept it this long because I really like driving it and my intention was to hold on to it as this era of X5 I think will become a future classic, so it would be nice to keep for the future but unfortunately being logical, this isn’t really an option.
After purchasing the car, I set about spending a considerable amount of money on it addressing a few issues to bring it up to a standard I was happy with, all of which I will detail below.
• SERVICES & MAINTENANCE
The car is supplied with 1 original BMW key, 1 Grey valet plastic key, a full compliment of owners manual, stamped service book, all service receipts and receipts for parts purchased and a few previous MOT certificates. The V5 registration document is present and is also in my name and address (as I am not a trader).
The car has been serviced well since new and done very little mileage in-between service intervals. The previous owner to me had the car for eight years from around 50k miles and had the same garage service the car religiously every year regardless of mileage. I have since spent around £2k on various parts.

• CONCLUSION
So as you can see above a fair bit of work has been carried out and it is a good base for the new owner to go on and improve further. The bodywork overall polishes up really nicely and has been regularly cleaned and waxed to maintain the shine. The previous owner unfortunately had a few scrapes with a gate post, so the rear bumper is really in need of a respray or at the very least a good condition second hand version being sourced to tidy this bit up a little as this does let the overall look of the car down. Sticking with the rear, and the previous owner once again managed to open the tailgate up on his garage door and dinted the top part of the metal just below the glass so this ideally would need a PDR guy to remove. The wheels could do with a refurbishment too, as there’s a few scrapes to the front alloys so in order to make it nice I think this would be something for whoever purchased the car to sort out. Again this would’ve been something I wanted to get done to get it all in tip top condition, but due to time and the fact I work long hours and a 170 mile round commute, means I just haven’t managed it.
So just want to be honest and open as the car overall is really nice and benefits from lots of new parts, recent service in the last few hundred miles and has had 12 months MOT put on literally two weeks ago with no advisories so is ready to be driven away.
