Born of Ford's desire to add an elegant Italian-style coupé to its range in 1966, the Taunus-based OSI 20 M TS was designed by former Ghia stylist Sergio Satorelli. Despite the success of its design, its career was cut short by the arrival of the Capri in 1968, and according to OSI, only 2, 200 examples were produced.
The 1510 chassis left the factory in April 1967 in Germany, where a fairly large proportion of production was sold. As stated on the old German registration document, the car is equipped with a 2. 3L V6 engine producing around 110 bhp, which is more powerful than the 2L of the initial versions. Its current owner, seduced by the many stylistic influences of its bodywork, acquired it in 2022, before carrying out extensive work totalling more than ?18, 000. For example, the clutch has been replaced, as have the gearbox seals and supports and the water pump seals. The passenger compartment has been refurbished and many of the bodywork seals replaced. In addition, the wiring harness has been refurbished and an electronic ignition fitted, while we also noted the presence of an aluminium radiator. An appraisal was also carried out in 2022, which potential buyers will be able to consult alongside the full details of the works. Combining Italian design expertise with mass-market mechanical components, this OSI represents an opportunity to drive an exotic and exclusive car at a moderate maintenance cost.
