1989 Classic Saab 900 Turbo

I have now found a slightly newer classic to buy and would like our Saab go to a good new home at a good price so I'm open to sensible offers and have reduced the price a bit more to hopefully spark more interest as we come into the nicer spring weather.

Rare Cirrus White 5-door classic 900 16S Turbo (FPT) with buffalo grey full leather interior. Factory-fitted options of

• air conditioning,
• heated seats,
• whale-tail spoiler,
• additional auxiliary gauges (battery, outside temp, oil temp),
• original Phillips cassette player,
• original dashboard tidy,
• cruise control (working)

Still has the original spare wheel with tyre bag, screenwash and tool kit (all tools present).

She is running on original, refurbed Saab Super Aeros 3-spoke deep dish alloys shod with Michelin CrossClimate all-season tyres fitted just a few years ago and still looking new (original Turbo alloys will come with the vehicle should the new owner want to return to stock).

We are the 2nd owners from new and bought the car 5 years ago to serve as a reliable, fun, and safe 2nd family car which it has done superbly, but it's time for a change and for someone else to enjoy 'Svensson' and take to the next level.

As you can see from the photos, the car comes with full documentation from the original order confirmation and garage correspondence letters, accessories/ option brochures marked up with selected options by the original purchaser, and full Saab service history until Saab was no more. In our ownership, she's been looked after by Alan & Dan at DCA Saab specialist in Berkshire who did a full assessment when purchased of any bits that needed doing. They also treated the underside with rust protection and have carried out annual services and all remedial works with no expense spared.

We bought her in Apr 2018 and had a new headlining fitted shortly after and it still looks new.

I also bought a rare grey/ dark grey Saab Carlsson steering wheel, but it came with a 9000 boss, so although it fits and functions, the horn doesn't work so it has now been removed. This was £350 and will come with the sale.

We have an outdoor Halfords car cover that will be included in the sale.

The car is used once or twice a week and under cover when not being used for any period of time. I’ve regularly attended Bicester Scramble over the last 5 years and it runs effortlessly there and back.

'Svensson' is in good condition, maybe a 7-7. 5/ 10 both mechanically and bodywork and has been super reliable since we've owned him. We've had kids' seats in the rear, but always on protective seat covers and front seats have rear covers to stop scuffs from the kids' feet.

Some negatives:
• AirCon needs a regas, but DCA believe it is functional
• 2 of the alloys have had slight reactions around the valve and some flaking from their refurb in 2018
• Some spots of surface rust to front n/ s wing and n/ s lower door and front and lower edges of front doors (see pics). The lower sections of the doors were treated a few years ago, although would benefit from being done again
• FM band on the original cassette player doesn't work, but AM, LW and cassette work fine - I can even throw in a selection of pre-1989 cassettes and an old-school cassette head cleaner if desired ;-)

We haven't got the time, and I haven't got the skills or facilities to do the bits of bodywork that are required to make him an 8/ 10. With just 72K miles on the clock and just 2 owners, we're really looking for "Svensson" to go to a good home and a new owner who will take him to the next level. He's been a great family car over the last 5 years, the kids love going out for a drive and the wife and I love the analogue driving experience and classic turbo lag accompanied by a soundtrack of classic 80s tunes from the cassette player... we'll be very sad to see Svensson go.
