* If you check out the MOT history, you'll note on the last MOT there was an advisory notice for rear subframe corrosion. This was clearly down to an over zealous MOT tester, infact I know the particular testing station and know why they do this to just about every car they test. If you look at the photos of the underside, you'll clearly see its in good order. However as an added prevention, I've wired brushed the underside components and removed all the surface corrosion, treated those areas with Jenolite Rust Cure (Brilliant Stuff) and then painted them in Stoneguard Paint, before adding a final application of Dynax UC (Clear) anti corrosion wax (again, brilliant stuff!)

SUMMARY
Firstly, and I can't stress this enough, but this is not your average, multi owned, neglected R170 SLK; not only is it a rare example of the R170, its a "proper car" and one that has been correctly maintained by its only owner.
It was supplied new by H L Gorner, Clapham, and was bought for the not so insignificant sum of £32, 900 and has been owned by the same gentleman (who was also a long term Mercedes Club Member) until October 2022, when I bought it from him, after he'd sadly suffered a depilating stroke, which had seriously affected his mobility and he couldnt get in it.
I've kept this as my own car for a year now, and have thoroughly enjoyed it, especially on sunny days, year round, when you can get the top down. I even took my 16 year old Son to his School Prom in it in June; he specifically asked me to take him in this car as he said it had so much more class than the usual hired Stretched Hummers, Ferraris and Lamborghinis the kids like to turn up in. He was right too, it provoked a very positive reaction among his friends as we pulled up, top down. I realised then, this car was older than all those kids there!
I'm actually selling this car for less than I bought it for, simply just to make space, so I'm offering it as it is, although I have done some work on it. Those who are familiar with how I operate will tell you I find the best cars, and try to get them nigh on perfect. To get this car to that point, I feel it needs two small areas of bubbling paint attending to, namely just behind the the mudflap on the o/ s/ f wing and on the lip of the N/ S/ Rear wheel arch, when done this car will be perfect. I originally said I wouldnt get it serviced, but felt it was better for me to get it done whilst it was being MOT and increase the price by what it cost me, so it's now done, and it aslo has a new MOT with No Advisory notices.
In truth there's probably much more expensive cars on the market in much worse condition, infact I know there is and can you point you towards quite a few them. I've always found good R170 SLK are quite difficult to sell as there's so much rubbish on the market, it kind of drags the good ones down; I know these cars inside out, but for the lay person to fully understand the difference between a good one and a bad one, you'd have to put a good and a bad one side by side. At the end of the day, find a good R170 SLK and it will be a superb car to own. I still think they're the best classic roadster you can buy, all things considered.
Also remember this IS NOT the ubiquitous SLK200 or SLK230K, but the very rare "Porsche Boxter Bashing" 3. 2 Litre V6 engined SLK320 with the even rarer Six Speed manual gearbox. This is one very quick car and one which has earned me a place on Speed Awareness Course too!!
Its also a rare single owner R170 SLK, complete with a Full MB/ MB Specialist service history; most are multi owned and have been passed around like the proverbial Hot Potato. The long term owner of this car used it in the summer for multiple continental trips, mainly to Portugal. In the winter it was kept undercover in his dry, but well aired barn; a perfect environment for a car.
So, if this car isn't sold by the first week in December, it will be withdrawn from sale, the bodywork will be done and it will be advertised for considerably more in the Spring of 2024, if I dont decide to keep it myself. As such, at this price, it's a bargain for someone looking for one of these superb Roadsters. There's not two many R170 V6's about and there's even less with the 6-Speed manual transmission, and you can count the good ones on one hand!
THE MTSV DIFFERENCE
Unlike some, I don?t just simply go out, buy any old car, give it a good clean, then advertise it for more than the purchase price, disregarding any issues the car may have in the hope the new buyer won?t notice?I just couldn?t do that. The cars I source are carefully selected and I work very hard so that when my cars leave me, I have the satisfaction of knowing they are as good as they possibly can be within the constraints I have.
