2008 Jaguar XK 4. 2 ? 59, 000 miles, 4 owners
I bought this car earlier in the year as I?ve always fancied one! I have several other classic cars and am moving house imminently, so sadly this one has to go. It?s a lovely car and is a pleasure to drive.
The car was a Cat D insurance claim back in 2016 when values were low. I?m told this was a minor accident requiring the replacement of the front bumper, the right hand wing and the headlamp ? this was repaired and checked through. Don?t let this put you off ? I have priced this car accordingly and it is very rare to see an XK with such low mileage. It truly is an absolute bargain, and in such a beautiful spec, too!
Since then the car has been in fairly regular local use, the lady I bought it from had spent quite a bit of money over the years sorting through all of the usual XK niggles.
The bodywork is all very clean and straight indeed ? obviously some minor marks due to the age of the vehicle but nothing that stands out. The gun-metal paint polished up beautifully. The interior is also very clean and tidy. The carpets are clean, the alcantara headlining is in beautiful order, and the seats are in good condition too. Optional extras include folding mirrors, rear parking sensors, heated seats and various other bits and bobs!
As far as I?m aware, everything on the car works as it should. I?ve never had any warning faults on the dashboard and the car runs beautifully. The tyres all have a decent amount of tread left. I had the water pump replaced and a full coolant flush a few months ago, the bearing on the water pump was beginning to squeak so I had it done before the problem worsened. Other than that, I would say it?s worth getting a four wheel alignment done ? it?s something I always do with my own vehicles but I?ve simply not got around to doing it on this one! The car tracks down the road in a straight line, though, and rides really nicely. I prefer the 18? wheels to anything bigger as they really do help with ride quality ? the larger rims can make the ride very crashy. Whilst the rear seats are fairly useless, the loading area in the rear is much bigger than you?d expect!
There is plenty of service history, including a stamped-up service book along with a wad of bills and receipts going back 10+ years. The car has MOT until the beginning of January but would be happy to put a fresh MOT on the car if the full price is paid ? I?m sure there won?t be any issues.
