A venerable freight train of the 1920s. This Model JD is from 1929, the last year of production and therefore benefitting from sensible upgrades such as front brake and lights.
This particular JD is an older restoration done to a high standard by a retired engineer. Owned for nearly 20 years and used for vintage rallies over the years.
Still in very good condition cosmetically as well as mechanically. A few very minor paint repairs here and there to cover a small chip in the paint but generally speaking, this is a lovely and presentable HD that would be equally at home on the road or on display.
The front mudguard is a later, quality replica in steel. Lights are working. Klaxon horn is working. Ammeter working.
Engine has good compression and will idle steadily. Gears select freely.
Once you get the balance right between ignition retarding and amount of throttle, this HD is first kick starter.
