Another fine example of one of the seven Vauxhall’s from the Derbyshire collection with just 1 former keeper and having just covered only 35, 723 miles this is an immaculate example from top to bottom and probably the best one that has come on to the market. Only 835 of these vehicles were produced which this is No 167, and the majority were modified due to the relative ease of which power gains can be produced. Fine paintwork all-round with no scratches or marks interior in fabulous also still contains its original floor mats and under close inspection shows this was a well cherished and looks after Astra VXR from a true Vauxhall enthusiast.
The Vauxhall Astra VXR Nurburgring Edition was released in 2008 and cost over £1500 more than the standard VXR 1. The changes were limited to some new wheels and tyres, another 15bhp, and endless Nurburgring badging that reflects the obsession that carmakers have with the lengthy, lethal German racetrack 1. The new Vauxhall Astra VXR Nurburgring Edition costs £20, 995 on the road and comes with exclusive all-white paint finish, lightweight white 18-inch 18-spoke alloy wheels, and Dunlop performance tyres 2. The only mechanical difference on the Nürburgring Edition is a Remus sports exhaust, developed by the Vauxhall race team Triple-Eight 3. The Nürburgring Edition actually works out cheaper than the standard car 3.
Naming a car after the classic racing circuit was a bold move. But the Astra VXR Nürburgring stepped up to the mark. It hammered from 0-60mph in 6. 2 seconds and achieved a top speed of 155mph. A Remus sports exhaust system increased performance by up to 15PS and added a throaty roar. This limited edition featured unique paint and distinctive chequered flag body graphics plus lightweight alloy wheels. Inside were Recaro sports seats with full leather trim, carbon fibre detailing and a special plaque with a unique serial number.
