Description
This very well presented MGB GT is finished in the ever popular Old English White with Red upholstery and is equipped with wire wheels and overdrive. RPD 5E has been with its last owner since December 2022 and was purchased in need of some light restoration work. Already a very strong, structurally sound example, the MGB was ready for a full re-paint so the car was stripped down, brand new door skins and a rear wing section fitted, then the car fully re-painted to a lovely standard. The MGB was then built up with various new seals, rubbers and various trims.
On the road RPD 5E is impressive with a strong, fit engine holding excellent oil pressure. The four speed gearbox is lovely to use, the overdrive smooth and on initial purchase in late 2022 the car found to be very strong mechanically. The only area requiring improvement was the suspension and therefore the front end was stripped down and fitted with all new poly bushes and new trunnions. The MGB was fully serviced and ready for reliable road use.
With a smart tidy engine bay, structurally excellent underside and driving very well, this is an excellent value MGB GT that can be used and enjoyed exactly as it is. It is ideal for regular use, touring but also a great basis for further improvement. With some pitting to the rear bumper and a split in the drivers seat, there are obvious areas that can be improved to take the car to the next level. We are happy to quote for any additional improvement work, but essentially this is an excellent value MGB GT that does not require any major expense and will be freshly serviced prior to going to its next owner.
