It's with huge excitement that we present probably the lowest mileage Ducati 1098 in the UK - the last truly analogue machine created by Bologna, and a surefire future classic.
A thoroughbred Ducati in every respect, it is without doubt one of the firm's greatest hits, bouncing back spectacularly following the 999's somewhat lukewarm reception. Given how utterly brilliant the 1098 is to ride, finding a low mileage/ low owner example (of the standard bike) is hens teeth territory, making this example all the more remarkable.
This is about as close as you can get to a box-fresh bike. Showing just 862 miles from new, it is near-flawless in every respect, and quite something to experience first hand.
It has an interesting story too - being first purchased by a member of the US Air Force, before making it's way to the UK in June 2016 with around 450 miles on the clock. Since then, it has been cherished by 2 mature custodians (known to us), who have preserved the bike meticulously.
Dry stored for all of its life, great care has been taken to maintain the mechanical integrity of the bike. It has been started regularly and run up to temperature, with fluids/ filters changed periodically. On occasion and in dry weather, the bike has been ridden (most recently by us) - and we're happy to report that it performed perfectly. Belts were changed (to the later Kevlar type) in 2021 at around 651 miles, and remain in excellent condition. For the next owner's peace of mind, we will have the bike serviced once again by Ducati, and we are happy to arrange an MOT should they wish to use the bike as intended.
Spec-wise, it is totally standard, and unmodified. Carbon mirrors and heatshield adorn the bike, contrasting perfectly with the red trellis frame, and satin black Marchesinis. It is supplied with all original documentation, pillion seat pad, and 2 x keys (one of which is unused & still packaged).
