Description
This is a factory built Spyder 550 kit. A really good quality kit made by Chamonix who also made Beck in the States. Regarded as the best 550 replica available.
All of the major work is done as can be seen from the pictures. The body is assembled on the chassis, doors, boot and bonnet fitted, wiring is in, front suspension, rear suspension, steering are all fitted and the car is painted. The main items required to finish the car are an engine and gearbox, lights, seats and wheels and tyres. There will be other smaller items but this will get the car ready for the road. A windscreen and side screens can be supplied with the car. No interior trim is supplied as this was intended as a track car so would have been painted inside.
The car is designed to accept a VW Beetle engine and gearbox and there is an exhaust system to suit this supplied but many other power units have been fitted to these cars such as Porsche, Alfa, Lancia and Subaru boxer engines although the chassis will also accept an inline 4. In all cases but the VW, the rear suspension will need to be redesigned.
In finished state these cars sell for between £25, 000 and £36, 000.
