FMR TG500 Tiger Microcar 1959
One of only 320 pcs produced and an estimated 150 pcs left worldwide, making this an extremely rare item.
Many of these were sold in kit for to be assembled by the owners, this Tiger was assembled at the factory. It was ordered from "RSM MESSERSCHMITT-WERK, Regensburger stahl-und metallbau GMBH, and imported Finland by Oy IMPORTER AB in 1959.
The current owner’s father purchased it in 1966, so been in the same family for nearly 60 years.
When it left it factory it was a grey colour with red interior, this is noted on the original order form that is still available. The original grey is still visible on some of the internal areas. In 1967 it was painted this more attractive green.
It has always been looked after and been driven very little, the meter reading of 43 500 km is claimed to be correct but there are no records to confirm this.
With the change in EU regulations, it became possible the register the Tiger as a motorcycle. The advantage was, that the vehicle did not need to be inspected every year. For this reason, it currently has a motorcycle vehicle status. It is also registered as a Museum vehicle.
As you can see in the photos, it is in great shape and ready to be enjoyed by its new owner. The owner will be sad to see it go as it has been in the family for so long, he has some great memories of driving in the car as a child and as an adult.
