We are delighted to offer for sale a charming 1955 Hillman Minx Californian in a striking yellow finish with a black roof, complemented by a sun visor and a vibrant red interior. This beauty has undergone significant reconditioning, making it a splendid find for any classic car aficionado.
The engine has been meticulously reconditioned, with the block re-bored and the crank re-ground. We've balanced the pistons and conrods, installed new timing chain and a new clutch, and reconditioned the shock absorbers. Additionally, the bumpers, grille, and hub caps have been re-chromed, adding to the car's appearance. While the tyres are recent and the car has had some welding done, it has also been freshly resprayed, enhancing its overall allure.
However, it's worth noting that there are a few areas that require attention. The underside would benefit from a bit of welding and tidying up, along with a full underseal. The exhaust is currently blowing at the downpipe, and the gear linkage needs adjustment currently will not select 3rd or 4th. As for the interior, it remains untouched and would greatly benefit from a new set of carpets and a general freshen-up. Rest assured, these considerations have been reflected in the price.
The car is on the market due to the unfortunate and sudden passing of its owner, who had intended to complete the restoration and keep the car for the long term. Despite this, the Hillman Minx remains a genuine right-hand drive vehicle in sound condition and is quite rare.
