Description

Built by South African engineer and racing driver Tony Kotze, with a view to build his own Formula One team. He took inspiration and design queues from the very successful Ferrari 156 and Lotus 18. Based in Cape Town a racing personally during the mid-50s and early 60s noted for his forceful driving style. It was not uncommon to design and build your own Formula One race car in South Africa in those days. Sponsored at the time by the Bond Tobacco Company, and competed in the South African National events, unique as it counted towards the Drivers’ Championship. Now creating a fabulous opportunity to enter the desirable Historique Monaco Grand Prix and other historical events. Brought to the UK in 2000 and after a complete rebuild it was exhibited at Brooklands Museum. Raced at the Historic Monaco Grand Prix in 2016, 2018 and recently again in 2024 with the current owner. Raced in the Goodwood Revival in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2010. HTP’s valid until 2033. Small spares package including another set of wheels.
