Description
YES, great Rootes Group lover that I am. When it comes to the "Audax" Hillman Minx, my all time favorite has always been the Series IIIC. With both the Series 1 and II coming with flat rear wings and rear screens, the III broke new territory with its slightly Trans-Atlantic look. In came those delightful rear fins along with the wraparound rear screen. The first few variants of the Serie III were all 1500cc models. Then came the last of them, the IIIC. This introduced the 1600cc engine. As I say - and it is my own opinion - the pick of the bunch when it comes to the entire Minx range from 1957 until 1968.
This beauty is in superb all round order. The grey/ blue (someone will let me know the exact name of the colour) is the car's original shade as can be seen from door cappings, dashboard and outstanding engine bay where small areas of factory primer can be seen beneath the factory colour.
These two-tone Minxes were designed to be a medium sized family car and were built with engineering very much in mind. Solid, reliable, strong, comfortable. Her panels are excellent and the paintwork great. One or two minor imperfections here and there but hey ho, this Minx will be 63-years-old in a few months time! Great underneath and with a delightful red interior, she would easily hold her own on any showground.
Still a great looking car after all these years! I am Martin (Martin Howey Classics Est. 26 years) and can help with delivery also. Please contact me for a quote. Thanks for reading and should you wish to know anything further about this marvelous Minx, then please ask. Martin. the details below.
