Description

Veritas was founded in 1946 in the south of Germany. The aim was to build competitive racing cars that used parts from the BMW 328. The racing cars quickly proved to be successful. A very successful Veritas racing driver was Paul Pietsch, founder of the Motor-Presse Verlag in Stuttgart. In 1950 the company moved its location to a former Heinkel factory near Rastatt. The BMW engines were replaced by more modern Heinkel lightweight alloy units. Unfortunately the company had to cease production in 1953. In total only 78 racing and sports cars were built. They are all rarities. Only 28 Veritas Meteor cars were ever produced.

Our vehicle comes from a museum clearance sale in 1971. Unfortunately, its history has been lost. The chassis number indicates that it was built in 1950. The engine is the famous Heinkel unit. The engine and transmission are a perfect match. The racing car was completely rebuilt in Germany, and pictures and documentation from that time are available. As a racing car, this classic car is not street legal. It is therefore something for collectors and specialists.

EXTRAS: ADDITIONAL: Heinkel lightweight alloy engine, Hurth 5-speed gearbox
