SUMMARY
A simply stunning example of a W210 E240 with the later syrupy smooth M112 2. 6 litre V6 engine. At an ultra low 16, 000 miles (yes sixteen!) its almost like a new W210 E-Class; its so comfortable to drive and soaks up bumps like a magic carpet and makes you realise that automotive comfort has regressed over the years.
Finished in beautiful 941 Arongonite Blue with somewhat rare 452A Blue Galaxi Cloth, it is certainly a more interesting colour combination than the usual boring Silver with Black. It was supplied by Huddersfield Garages to a gentleman from Halifax, who barely used it. He fell into ill health around 2008 and the car lay unused in his garage until 2017. It was recommissioned by a local Mercedes specialist and I actually had a chance to buy this very car back then when it had only done 8, 000 miles, but it was quickly snapped up by an Mercedes collector before I could get to it. He used it sparingly and kept it garaged throughout his ownership.
It comes with impressive history and provenance, starting with the original bill of sale, right up to its most recent work in August where it was inspected by a Mercedes specialist whilst it was in for the Air conditioning refreshing; they put a comment on the invoice saying that this E-Class is in exceptional condition and one of the best W210's they'd seen in many years.
So, if you're looking for an occasional classic to cherish or indeed something you could use everyday that is reliable, safe, ultra comfortable as well as being stoically reliable and a car that oozes class, but not in an ostentatious way, this has to tick all those boxes. Basically this is an almost new Mercedes E-Class for considerably less than even the cheapest budget basement basic new car.
THE MTSV DIFFERENCE
Unlike some, I don’t just simply go out, buy any old car, give it a good clean, then advertise it for more than the purchase price, disregarding any issues the car may have in the hope the new buyer won’t notice…I just couldn’t do that.
