Description
This beautifully presented MGB GT was manufactured on the 10th June 1974 and supplied new by Premier Motors Limited, Southgate, London. The car was supplied new with overdrive and registered new in North West London on GLU 292N. This stunning car was supplied in 2017 by an MG specialist having previously had a major program of work to include new sills, castle rails, complete rear wings and a complete bare metal re-paint. The car was mechanically overhauled and the engine converted to run on unleaded fuel.
From 2017 to 2023 the MG was in the Harrogate area with one owner who spent over £7000 on improvements and maintenance. He used the car regularly covering around 7000 miles over this period. The work carried out included a conversion onto chrome wire wheels and various detailed improvements, servicing and general upkeep. In 2023 the MG was sold to its last owner in County Durham, a classic car enthusiast who is now ready for a change after two and half years of ownership. Over this time the car has proven faultless to owner and has proven a completely reliable, superbly presented classic.
On the road GLU 292N is a delight, the engine is super strong with excellent oil pressure, it pulls superbly and the four speed gearbox is smooth with a delightful working overdrive. The car pulls up straight, steering is correct and the car handles and holds the road superbly.
This is an impressive, properly set up driving car that is ready to drive and enjoy. Having had a body restoration, we can confirm the shell and general underside is structurally excellent, the paintwork is of a high standard and chrome work gleams. The chrome wires are excellent, the leather trim and upholstery all lovely, and the engine bay and boot compartment all very well presented. The MG is further enhanced by a full Webasto sunroof, wood trim dash and wood-trim steering wheel.
