Designed by Andreas Zapatinas at Fiat’s Centro Stile and introduced in 1995, the Fiat Barchetta was a compact sporty Italian roadster in the spirit of the lightweight Italian sports cars. The name Barchetta means ‘little boat’. The car was based on the Fiat Punto platform and featured a 131 hp 1800 cc four-cylinder engine mated to a five speed manually operated gearbox driving the front wheels. This ‘Black Edition’ car features a special option package consisting of contrasting (black) interior trim on doors and (velour) mats, black roll bars, black front logo, alloy wheels and an upgraded Fiat audio system with RDS and CD player.
