A 1929 Hillman 14 Tourer.
Reg No. WL 6731.
Car No. E10973.
Engine No. Tba.
Blue and black with black interior.

Hillman, like many motor manufacturers started in the bicycle trade and became one of the largest motor car manufacturers by the commencement of the First World War.

The Hillman 14hp became their mainstay model in the mid 1920’s producing approximately 11, 000 units. The Rootes brothers acquired distribution rights in 1927 and subsequently their Humber company bought the firm in 1928.

This example has the 1945cc side valve engine mated to a 4 speed in unit gearbox with right-hand gear change. The braking system has the advantage of the Dewandre mechanical servo.

The engine underwent a full rebuild by Cambridge Rebores in June 2010, invoice on file. A new hood and new tyres were also added.
