Description
Launched in the mid-1990s, BMW introduced the BMW Z3. Its success was immediate, and its appearance in the James Bond film series (in Goldeneye) certainly helped matters. Around 300, 000 Z3 coupé and roadster models were produced (in the USA, the first BMW built there) in various engine options: 1. 8L, 1. 9L, 2. 0L, 2. 2L, 2. 3L, 2. 5L (US market), 2. 8L, 3. 0L and finally 3. 2L, the famous M versions from 1996 (and 1997 for the coupé versions).
NYC's/ OXOTO is listing here a handsome 2. 2L Z3 cabrio, i. e. a six‑cylinder unit developing 170 hp, in black (Black Sapphire Metallic), with full black leather interior and under 148, 000 km. Delivered new in July 2001 (therefore a Phase 2), it became Belgian in 2017 where it recorded 126, 160 km at that time.
As for the bodywork, it presents well despite the black colour. No dents, no scratches, it is in good condition. The soft-top is also in good order, its opening/ closing works. Note a very light water ingress on the passenger side, due to a seal that ideally should be replaced.
The interior is also in very good condition, absolutely nothing to criticise for a car over 20 years old, whether the seats, the dashboard, the central console, the inside of the hood, etc... really nothing cosmetic to plan. Not a single warning light (a known issue on the Z3). Even the air conditioning is fully functional.
Regarding the mechanicals, we unfortunately do not have a service history. However, after a road test of over 60 km, we can confirm that it runs very well. Incidentally, the last MOT (technical inspection) was in January 2026 (147, 457 km) and only noted two minor items (headlight adjustment and tyre wear, since corrected).
We also have a wind deflector and a spare set of keys.
